Digital tachographs where applicable are required by law to be operational and the driver is required to ensure the tachograph and driver card are working / recording and saving data in order to produce a record if requested by authorities. Digital tachograph no longer uses the older disc to scribe analogue data to a tacho chart, instead digital tachographs stream live data and record vehicle and driver data in realtime to a dedicated driver smartcard. |
